Methodology & Sources

Methodology

The Impact Statement (iS) provides an in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis of a company’s negative and positive impacts. It is based on a double materiality approach responding to current and upcoming regulatory standards and aligns with the SDGs. Going beyond ESG, the iS analysis is based on the five dimensions of the Impact Management Project (IMP) norms, assessing indicators, mitigation strategies, positive impacts and providing contextualized content. The analysis generates an impak Score™ on a scale from 0 to 1000.

Sources

The sources used to perform an iS analysis are exclusively collected from publicly available documents, including corporate disclosures (ie. Sustainability Reports, EU Taxonomy and TCFD disclosures), and corporate websites. To collect information from private companies, impak has developed the impak Data Collection Platform (iDCP), which provides an interactive online questionnaire where companies can themselves fill in the relevant information to perform an analysis.
